Hurricane Warning: Miami Beats Iowa State, Reaches First Elite 8 | Sports Capital Journalism Program

CHICAGO — Jim Larranaga has coached the Miami Hurricanes to 226 wins and counting, more than any of his peers at “The U”. Upperclassmen Kameron McGusty, Jordan Miller and Sam Waardenburg combined for 56 Miami points, equaling Iowa State’s total scoring output, as the Hurricanes pulled away late in a hard-fought contest.

Hatton secured his first BMW PGA Championship title on Sunday, which is also his third Rolex Series win. Now 28 years of age, the dream has become reality. “It’s unbelievable,” said Hatton. “This was a goal of mine, to win this tournament in my career, and part of me is sad that I didn’t get to experience the crowds and stuff with the grandstands, but it’s just amazing to win this trophy.”
